CHANNEL SIDE DOCKS - Rules

For the Safety and Enjoyment of the YCSH Docks, all boat owners, their crew and guests must abide by the following rules and regulations.

Quiet hours are 11:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. PLEASE!! Noise should be kept to a minimum at all times. All persons using the Channel-side Docks shall use discretion in operating engines, generators, radios and television sets, so as not to create a nuisance or disturbance.

All sailboats must have halyards tied or secured. Any unsecured halyards or other lines creating a nuisance during a light wind will be secured by the Docks at the boat owner’s expense.

Pets, when on YCSH property, must be controlled by the owners at all times. Pets must be on a leash and in or on the Owner’s Boat at all times. Pets are not to be chained or tied to catwalks, docks or sidewalks. If a pet soils Club property, the owner must clean it up. Constant barking is prohibited.

Boaters who discharge holding tanks or toilets into the water will have their Dockage Agreement immediately terminated and will cause the immediate removal of the Owner’s Boat from the Dock Facilities. Any paid dockage will be forfeited. Emptying of portable toilets in the restrooms is prohibited. A portable pump out unit is available upon request.

Open fires are not permitted on docks, piers or boats.

Owners or operators of vessels shall immediately reimburse YCSH for any damage or defacement, which they or their vessel may cause to YCSH property. Dockage agreements will be cancelled and not be renewed with owners or operators who have not satisfied such outstanding obligations.

Boats found in unassigned slips will be moved at the owner’s expense.

Disorder, depredations, public intoxication, profanity or abusive language by a boat owner, employee, visitor, family or other will cause the immediate removal from the Channel-side Docks of the vessel in question. The vessel of any other tenant who causes or threatens harm to the person or property of any other tenant, YCSH employee or member of the public will be subject to the immediate removal from the Channel-side Docks.

Any boat which enters the Channel-Side Docks immediately comes under the jurisdiction of Club/Dock Management. Accordingly, Boat Owners must follow the instructions of such Management for the safety and well being of all persons and boats using the Docks.

A responsible representative of each vessel shall immediately report to the Club/Dock Management and complete an Incident Report stating the time, place, cause and circumstances of any accident or injury to a passenger or other person, or damage to any property in which a vessel is involved.

Should Owner’s boat sink in the YCSH Facility, Owner agrees to remove his boat within 24 hours of its sinking. YCSH may move or have the vessel removed at the Owner’s expense. Any vessel experiencing more than normal leakage must be repaired or removed from the Channel-Side Docks.

YCSH assumes no responsibility for improperly moored boats or improperly tied lines.

Docks and finger piers shall be kept clear of stored materials. Boat Owners shall not store supplies, materials, accessories or debris on walkways. All dock boxes must be approved by YCSH.

Avoid hanging laundry on boats, docks or finger piers.

Only manufactured boat fenders are approved by YCSH. Homemade fenders and ties are prohibited.

Repair and maintenance of dock facilities must be performed by Club personnel only. Only YCSH employees or agents will perform alterations or additions to dock facilities.

Routine maintenance and minor repair necessary for the preservation and seaworthiness of the vessel such as mechanical adjustments, minor painting, leak seals and rot prevention may be performed within the Channel-Side Docks. Routine maintenance and minor repairs are generally considered to be those that do not disturb the public peace and tranquility of any person aboard any boat within the jurisdiction of the Channel-Side Docks. YCSH will not loan tools, equipment or supplies to Boat Owners or operators for any such routine maintenance or minor repairs. No outside contractor may work on any boat in the Channel-Side Docks without the prior consent of the boat owner and Club Management. Outside contractors must provide proof of insurance to Club Management. All such routine maintenance and minor repair by Boat Owners, operators or permitted outside contractors may be performed only between 8:00A.M. and 4:00P.M. except in the case of an emergency.

YCSH will take reasonable measures to maintain adequate depth in the Channel-Side Docks, but will not be responsible for vessels stranded or hitting bottom. Due to constantly changing water levels, YCSH will not refund fees collected if the vessel’s draft exceeds the basins or channel water depth.

Children under fourteen (14) years of age should be accompanied by an adult when on the docks and should be wearing an approved PFD.

All vessels operating in the Channel-Side Dock waters must proceed at idle, no wake speed, so as to prevent damage or injury to persons or property. Boat owners are liable for any and all damage caused to any property by such boat’s wake.

Any electrical, mechanical or structural failures, or damages must be reported to Dock/Club Management immediately so that such failures or damages may be repaired.

Avoid routing hoses and electrical lines across the docks.

Water supply hoses of unattended vessels shall be disconnected at the dock and stowed aboard.

Water and electricity must not be wasted. Do not leave air conditioners running if your boat will be left unattended for over four (4) hours. Additional charges may be assessed.

The discharging of fireworks or use of sparklers is prohibited. Violators may be removed from the Channel-Side Dock Facility.

Violation of any city ordinances, state or federal laws, or violation of any regulations of city, state or federal agencies shall be cause for YCSH to terminate the Dockage Agreement immediately and to cause the immediate removal of the Owner’s Boat from the Docks.

Boat Owners must provide their current federal documentation or state registration numbers for all boats berthed in the Docks. Season Dockers must be a member of YCSH and listed as the boats legal owner. Temporary Dockers must be members of YCSH or an affiliated YCA club.

All crafts on YCSH property, either on land or in the water, must be maintained in a safe, clean manner including all cosmetics, the structure and all components. Each craft must meet minimum state and local regulations and must be able to pass a Coast Guard inspection. If any craft is determined unable to pass minimum Coast Guard standards, the owner will be notified by verbal or written notice and will have a reasonable time to make all necessary repairs. If the owner is unable or unwilling to bring the craft up to acceptable standards it must be removed from YCSH premises at the owner’s expense.
