Miner's Gems..... August 13, 2008 Hello YCSH Members, I think we can finally call this the home stretch of the summer. This summer has been fantastic in all aspects due to the clubs many activities. Please spread the word to your neighbors and friends that the YCSH is the place to be in the summer. There is one thing that as the manager I would be irresponsible if I did not bring up. When we have family functions here at the club, children attending the function must remain under their parent’s supervision throughout the evening. As much as our staff does to look out for all of the children, it is not their job to watch them and keep them safe on family nights. Therefore when you are attending these functions please keep your children in your sights, and above all, they must remain inside the club unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult. We are all here to socialize and have a great time, and we don’t want a mishap around the water to ruin the summer. I will step down off my soap box now and give a quick snapshot of the last few functions of the summer. We have an adult Rock n Roll night this Saturday the 16th with the return of the SENSATIONAL SOUL CRUISERS. They put on a great show every time they come to the club, and keep our members on the floor all night long. This is the last adult night of the season, so get your baby sitters lined up and plan to spend the night at the club. The Commodore’s Regatta is on August 22, beginning at 11:30 am. All sailors are welcome and encouraged to participate in the last major club regatta of the season. Sailor’s awards brunch is the following morning in the main dining room. Our CRAB FEST is on Sunday August 24th. The Andalusia Jug Band is back again to party and entertain us while we pick blue claws and down our favorite beverages. This tends to be a messy dining experience, so the dress code is relaxed for the evening. Your food minimum, if you have not used it yet, will be available until the end of our fiscal year, which is October 31. After Labor Day the grille room will continue to be open every Friday and Saturday night from 6 pm on. I hope to see you in the next couple weeks and through out the great fall season.
